Jaegar Farming and Fibre is continuing to be able to offer new services to the alpaca industry and the natural fibre sector with the introduction of alpaca fibre brokering. The Australian and international market is wanting alpaca fibre - of all types and micron.  Alpaca farmers  can obtain a competitive price for their raw fleece. I am currently working with industry and alpaca breeders to enable a win win relationship where alpaca fibre is valued and utilised within Australia and internationally.

The processing of quality fleece from breeding to the design and production of Surisilk ™ yarns, fibres and creative designs is continuing to expand. In 2012, the first commercial run of suri blended with merino will occur and the launch of surisilk art yarn and hand carded batts is an exciting innovation. My primary alpaca breeding focus continues to emphasise fawn suri alpacas and fleece characteristics that will provide the highest quality suri yarn and fibre top. Jaegar suris are bred for silky handle and lustre with fine to medium micron, flat locking architecture and fleece density.

I now offer to Australian and New Zealand alpaca breeders a training and consulting service to enable breeders to build their skills and knowledge about natural fibre ( alpaca in particular), fleece classing and sorting and procedures to make their fleece pay its way.
